Chris 'Vocals' The Breakfast Club Eighties Cover Band
Chris's early career was shared with Robbo our bass player, but after the band split (over artistic reasons) ,Robbo pursued his career in Australia , and Chris went to the US.
Work proved hard to come by, with Chris working as busker, barman, and finally in a position as 'Soul Glo' technical advisor in the John Landis film 'Coming to America' . This proved to be a pivitol moment in Chris's musical education with the meeting of Chris with his musical mentor Randy Watson. Chris was impressed by his charisma and the unique way he and his band 'Sexual Chocolate' reinvented the song "The Greatest Love Of All". Chris worked with Randy on a number of projects but was constantly dogged with bad luck. Gig after gig was cancelled due to one mishap after another, from cymbals flying off drum kits and decapitating audience members, to Randy's untimely demise after slipping on a pool of 'Soul Glo' and falling to his death in an orchestra pit.
Grieving, Chris moved back to the UK and started a new career in fabrication, but still continued to try and build a band with that elusive 'Chocolate' sound. Even to this day Chris will break into a conversation with Stu in an authentic bronx accent between songs for no apparent reason.
Back in 2004 Chris began to form the band with Ade and Robbo, but immediately the curse of Randy Watson struck and Chris's collection of 'Soul Glo' (available on eBay) caught fire destroying all of the band equipment and destroying Chris's business.
Undetered Chris rebuilt his business and continued forward in building the band.........
